Here are two resources I have used to find a book agent, find contact information for magazine editors, and stay on top of changes in the writing world.

WritersMarket.com  (Well worth the monthly fee of $5.99 once you are serious about outreach.)

MediaBistro (A great place for freelancers and to get inside scoop/advice for approaching your favorite outlets.)

Kathleen, thanks for offering support to writers. I recently had the most amazing experience at the Southern California Writer's Conference, which I would suggest for all writers. Since writing is such a isolating process, it's vital that we all connect, and discover that, in reality, we all have similar emotional hurdles to overcome in order to grab life by the ovaries.
